Sonatine pour clarinette basse
Commissioned by clarinetist Rocco Parisi, this sonatina was premiered during Clarinetfest 2016 in Lawrence, USA. The first movement, Energia, oscillates between binary phrasing and swing feeling. The second movement, Malinconia, tenderly and powerfully explores the entire range of the instrument, from the low to the extremely high registers. The final movement, Tarantella, presents virtuosic variations on a theme inspired by traditional Italian music.
