The “Danse de la fureur pour les 7 trompettes”, from Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, inspired the writing of this piece.

Odd rhythms, essentially modal writing, orchestration using unison, etc., are all “materials” used by Messiaen and which I also enjoy exploring.

This piece won the Audience Award in 2018 at the Vedrarias composition competition.
