This S(p)eed Suite is dedicated to the  Hey seed basset clarinet trio and consists of three linked movements.

The first is a very fast dance, full of virtuosity, which also gives the musicians the opportunity to improvise in a style close to traditional music.

The second movement is a kind of ostinato in 3/4 + an extended fourth beat. It is an opportunity for the three soloists to express their sensitivity and their talents as “singers.”

As for the third movement, at the request of the work’s commissioners, it is strongly inspired by Spanish music. Here again, the virtuosity is great and dance and joie de vivre are everywhere.
