Concerto for clarinets – HABANERA

Concerto for clarinets.

This concerto is written for clarinet choir and solo clarinet. It consists of a series of dances highlighting one of the instruments of the clarinet family in each of its five movements: Bb clarinet, bass clarinet, basset horn, piccolo clarinet, contrabass clarinet, and an encore featuring all the soloists.

The second movement is a Habanera, at one time melancholy, at another impassioned, in which the bass clarinet extends its range across the entire range of the instrument.
